Smooth Moves

Posted on: January 30, 2020

I feel breakfast is the scariest part of the day for me.  I’m always trying to figure out something quick and easy.  You’re always told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so I’m also trying to find something that is healthy and filling but not complicated to make.  I feel like I can get that done with a breakfast smoothie.  This green smoothie recipe is packed with nutritious ingredients to jump start your morning.  This blend is actually to be eaten as a substitute for yogurt and served in a bowl but you can add as much almond milk or ice water as you would like to get the consistency of your liking for a smoothie.

Green Breakfast Bowl
Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/4 fennel
  • 1/2 handful spinach or kale
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger
  • 1 apple (or banana if you prefer it sweeter)
  • 2-inch slice pineapple
  • 1 tbsp physsilium, hemp, flax or chia seeds
  • 1 cup almond milk or ice cold water

Add all ingredients to a blender and mix until smooth.  Pour in bowls and top with seeds, nuts or granola.

You can find this recipe here and for more smoothie recipes pick up “GREEN KITCHEN SMOOTHIES: HEALTHY AND COLORFUL SMOOTHIES FOR EVERY DAY” by David Frenkiel and Luise Vindahl available at Coles.

For easy smoothie making, I suggest investing in a Chefman Ultimate Blender from Kitchen Stuff Plus.  Its size is perfect for quick everyday use and the set comes with multiple cups and lids for smoothies on-the-go.
