Myseum: Intersections Festival

Arts Etobicoke and art collective DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC MEMORY invited participants to contribute living memories to a new “Memory Archive” for Etobicoke. The program was part of the Myseum of Toronto’s Intersections Festival 2019 and included 3 workshops. An annual festival Intersections explores intersectional perspectives of Toronto through collaborative exhibits, events, workshops, and tours.

Workshop 3 was hosted at Cloverdale Common, where participants were encouraged to get creative working with the “living memories” gathered at previous workshop.  At this hands-on, artistic workshop, participants learned ways to remix this research. Further, participants used their newly acquired skills to interview mall patrons looking to uncover their memories of the Cloverdale Mall and local community.
