Mindful Thoughts

Posted on: April 25, 2020

As I’m currently spending my days at home, making sure to prioritize my health and wellness is essential.  For me, this includes taking some time to read up on mindfulness, discovering a new passion, or even learning new exercises to stay in shape.  Luckily, Coles is a one-stop shop for all things related to self-care!  Their online store offers a variety of items that are specifically geared towards staying healthy and mindful.  The best part is, you won’t have to leave the comfort (and safety) of your own home!  By heading over to www.chapters.indigo.ca, you can have everything dedicated to health and wellness right at your fingertips.  Their collection of self-care books are categorized to help you can find exactly what you are looking for with ease.

The creativity category helped me find books that not only sparked my interest in new hobbies, such as writing and drawing, but also motivated me through inspiring reads.  A few of my suggested books are listed below.

Toronto Makes by Randi Bergman:  A photography book that highlights the inspiring stories of Toronto’s most successful and creative entrepreneurs, proudly showcasing what the city has to offer while encouraging readers to follow their dreams.

Mindful Thoughts for Makers by Ellie Beck:  A small reminder of how exercising your creativity can be calming, uplifting, and rewarding!

500 Writing Prompts Journal by Picadilly:  The perfect book to get your writing skills going if you don’t know where or how to start.  The prompts nudge you to think creatively and enhance your writing skills!

I would also recommend having a look at “Heather’s Picks”, a curated list of books by Indigo’s CEO and chief booklover.  Here you will be able to explore many wellness books that are bestsellers and have achieved acclaim for their ability to encourage self-care in a variety of ways.  A couple of her favourites which are on my to-read list are listed below.

The Book of Awesome by Neil Pasricha:  An international best-selling feel-good book about the best things in life.

The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin:  A personal novel that recounts the author’s steps taken to be a happier person.

Make sure to browse Coles via Indigo online for many more inspiring reads that can be delivered straight to your doorstep.
