Break The Ice

Posted on: November 14, 2023

In the spirit of our Holiday theme of Chillin’ with Cloverdale . . . shall we “break the ice” with all things icy, and cool at Cloverdale?

First, you must try this sharp beverage recipe from the LCBO:
ICE DANCER
Ingredients:
  • ¼ cup diced seedless green grapes
  • ⅛ fresh lemon
  • 1½ oz vodka
  • sparkling elderflower water
  • mint sprig
Directions:

To a cocktail shaker, add ¼ cup diced seedless green grapes and the juice of ⅛ fresh lemon.  Muddle the grapes.  Fill the shaker with ice and add 1½ oz vodka.  Shake and strain into a highball glass filled with ice.  Top with sparkling elderflower water (or lemon-lime soda) and garnish with a mint sprig.

Oh, the weather outside can be so frightful that it causes us to become ill.  Get through the sicknesses with Ricola Extra Strength Icy Menthol Flavoured Cough Drops, available at Metro.  They are perfect to cool and relieve your sore throat or stubborn cough plus they have three times the menthol, for the season’s worst sore throats!

Looking for some cold weather outdoor fun for kids big and small?  Crazy Ice Bubbles, 12 Pack by Wishbone are the coolest!  These bubbles are specially formulated for Winter conditions.  It is a thicker solution that makes Winter bubble fun last longer.  Purchase a pack online and pick up in-store at Coles.

For those frosty days where you have no choice but to shovel your way out, make sure you are prepared for the body aches and pains that will come later, with Icy Hot Pro No-Mess Pain Relief Cream.  Found at Rexall, this maximum-strength cream works to relieve achy muscles and joints for lasting relief.

Don’t forget to sit back, relax and take a sip of StarbucksIced Shaken Espresso.  This beverage is a Made with the rich, full-bodied espresso you love—then shaken, chilled and mellowed with sweetness and a touch of milk to create a delightfully and deliciously convenient on-the-go drink.

With all of these ways to “break the ice” you are now prepared for all things icy and cool this season!  Including Santa’s arrival at Cloverdale on Saturday, November 18!  Santa will be here in his icy, cool arctic forest, located near Walking On A Cloud!  Book your spot to visit and have your photo taken with the man in red at Chillin’ With Santa.
